Shuman McCuskey Slicer PLLC is excited to welcome our 2020 Summer Associates Austin Longnecker and Tyler L. Rittenhouse.
Austin graduated from West Virginia University in 2015 with a B.A. in Criminology. He is currently a rising third-year law student at West Virginia University College of Law. Austin is originally from Centreville, Virginia, but grew up in West Virginia’s Eastern Panhandle. His past experience includes clerking for the Honorable Robert Trumble in the Northern District of West Virginia. Austin is interested in Insurance Defense Litigation and Employment Litigation. Austin’s leadership roles and positions include President of the Student Bar Association, Law Review Executive Notes Editor, Lugar National Trial Association Treasurer, and WV Employment Lawyers Association Secretary.
Tyler is a rising third-year law student at the West Virginia University College of Law from Teays Valley, West Virginia. Prior to law school, he attended Coastal Carolina University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in marketing. Among other activities, Tyler is a member of WVU College of Law’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Club and the Labor Law Society. Before coming to Shuman, McCuskey, and Slicer, he worked with another insurance defense firm in Charleston and served as an extern for the WVU Health Services Office of General Counsel. Outside of the office, he enjoys spending his free time on the golf course and with friends and family. He is excited about continuing to expand his knowledge in a variety of practice areas while gaining more hands-on experience to better prepare for his future practice of law.
