BIOGRAPHY
Shannon Marlowe Rogers was born and raised in Yorktown, Virginia. Shannon attended Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia, where she was involved as a Resident Assistant for three years. While in college, Shannon worked as an intern for Legislative Affairs at NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia. Shannon graduated with a double major in Political Science and Sociology and minor in Human Rights & Conflict Resolution.
Shannon went on to pursue her law degree from the West Virginia University College of Law, graduating in May 2020. During her time at the College of Law, Shannon served as the Student Editor-in-Chief for the ABA’s Family Law Quarterly Journal and as Vice-President of the Public Interest Advocates. During the summer after her first year of law school, Shannon worked as an intern at the Newport News Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office in Newport News, Virginia. The following summer, Shannon was selected to be a Public Interest Fellow, working at Legal Aid of West Virginia in its Morgantown, West Virginia office. Shannon worked at another civil defense firm prior to becoming an associate in Shuman McCuskey Slicer’s Charleston office.
Shannon lives in Charleston with her husband and their dog, Atticus Finch.
