Shuman McCuskey Slicer PLLC Attorney Obtains Favorable Ruling on Behalf of Clients for Claims Brought Related to Religious Discrimination

Shuman McCuskey Slicer PLLC attorney Michael D. Dunham obtained a favorable ruling from the Virginia Fair Housing Board on behalf of SMS’s clients, a property owner’s association, and a community management firm. The petitioner, a resident of the community, brought a discrimination claim against the property owner’s association and community management firm, claiming that they discriminated against the petitioner based upon his religious beliefs. SMS clients disputed the petitioner’s claims. After considering written submissions, and hearing argument from Mr. Dunham, the Fair Housing Board agreed that reasonable cause did not exist to believe that an unlawful discriminatory housing practice occurred. The Fair Housing Board dismissed the complaint against the SMS clients.
